ALVARO LEITE

Alvaro Leite is an emergency management and geoprocessing specialist, with a bachelor’s degree and a teaching degree in Geography and the Environment. With over 15 years of professional experience, Álvaro works in the areas of research, education, environmental assessment, environmental project consulting, engineering, environmental licensing and emergency response. He develops environmental mapping projects, marine emergency plans, coastal protection plans, tactical coastal response plans and wildlife protection plans for various clients. In addition, he is responsible for planning and executing fieldwork to acquire environmental and socioeconomic data, structuring, implementing and managing databases in a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) environment, preparing strategic and tactical maps for coastal protection in cases of oil spills at sea, preparing risk maps for industrial facilities and producing maps for various response plans and environmental studies. Álvaro is also responsible for training emergency management teams for a range of clients in the oil and gas and mining sectors, as well as managing real emergencies in a range of environments, sectors and scales.
