MARCOS ANDRADE

Marcos Andrade is an Environmental Scientist with over 10 years of experience in consulting, environmental licensing and emergency response. He participated in managing the Campo de Frade emergency (2012) and the environmental licensing of projects in the electricity sector, such as transmission lines, hydroelectric and thermoelectric plants and projects in the transportation sector, such as ports, highways and railways. He was part of the coordination of the environmental licensing of the largest direct current transmission line in Brazil (LT 800kV Xingu – Terminal Rio), covering the states of Pará, Tocantins, Goiás, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, in addition to having worked in all stages of the licensing of other transmission lines. He has extensive experience in fieldwork, such as preparing environmental diagnoses of the socioeconomic environment and managing and executing environmental programs provided for in the Basic Environmental Plan of several projects. He prepared technical reports for Due diligence on environmental and land licensing issues for infrastructure projects. Marcos acts as an overflight leader for monitoring, sizing oil spills and coordinating field response actions, in addition to coordinating emergency response preparedness projects for the main oil and gas operators in Brazil.
